Port
Renfrew, on southern coast of Vancouver Island, in beautiful British
Columbia, Canada, boasts many outdoor adventure opportunities.
Fishing, crabbing,
and smelting are all local favourites here. The Port Renfrew area
is well-known for its abundance of salmon and halibut, although
plenty of steelhead, lingcod, coastal cutthroat trout and rainbow
trout are just waiting to be caught here too.
Come, watch the
wildlife that is native to our region, including... many sea and
land birds, elk, deer, cougar and black bear. We also have regular
sightings of Orcas (Killer Whales), Gray Whales, and Humpback
Whales. The marine environment is exciting in this region, offering
exciting non-stop natural entertainment.
Other interesting
activities include mushroom picking along the many trails in the
area, and Storm Watching. The nearby Botanical Beach offers world-renowned
tidal pools full of intricate marine life at low-tide, and also
becomes a fabulous storm-watching viewpoint in inclement weather.
Swimming in the local lakes is also a great way to spend a day.
The house is located
only five-minute walk to the San Juan River mouth and five-minute
drive to Botanical Beach. The boat is also only five minutes down
the road.
